I've had the VeganEgg by Follow Your Heart in my cupboard and I just got around to using it to make French Toast...and I'm hooked! Really such an awesome product and it works fantastic in all sorts of recipes. Yes, after my amazing results with the French Toast, I have been using VeganEgg a whole awful lot! I wanted to share the recipe (plus whenever I post food pictures on social, almost every comment I receive is, "RECIPE PLEEEASE!" haha! So might as well post how to make it! Ok, here it is, super simple recipe and absolutely delicious; exactly like what I remember French Toast to be, from my childhood.
Simple Vegan French Toast Recipe
makes 4- 8 servings
1/4 cup VeganEgg
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
pinch of ground nutmeg
pinch of ground ginger
pinch of salt
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup vanilla soy milk
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
4 slices thick bread OR 8 slices regular-sized bread
Vegan butter to grease pan or griddle
In a medium sized bowl, combine VeganEgg, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, salt and brown sugar. Add soy milk and vanilla to the dry mixture and whisk until batter is well-combined. Heat a pan or griddle to medium heat and grease with butter or oil. Dunk bread slices in batter and heat in buttery pan or griddle for 4 minutes per side, or until cooked thoroughly.
Tip: Add toppings like (more) butter, pure maple syrup, vegan whipped cream, chocolate sauce, fruits, or whatever you like!
You will absolutely love eating French Toast after trying this easy but amazingly yummy recipe; this is the perfect breakfast to enjoy with your morning cup of coffee or tea!
