Random Friday Thoughts

You ever be eatin' and chewin' then have to sneeze mid chew? You realize that you have to breathe in to sneeze. Bet you didn't know that. Well now you'll pay attention to it the next time you have to sneeze. Then you breathe in a bunch of crumbs. Ahhhh (breathe in crumbs) chewww (spew out food). I suggest you don't sneeze while you are eating. But how can you control it? You can't. You can't control anything.

Life is going to happen regardless of what you do. Whether you are hiding in your pillow and blanket fort, or charging the halls of some fancy office building in your pin striped power suit. So what do you do? You breathe in a few crumbs. If that's what it takes to perform the task of sneezing. In this thing called life, we have to trudge through and take some crap in the process. It's worth it, especially if you feel that you are doing something that is worthwhile.

Over the years my life and career took several twists and turns. I had always tried to focus on being of service. To the animals. To the environment. To people. That's always been the goal. And to make enough money that I can, eventually and someday, help out a lot of people. I honestly don't need anything too fancy for myself - been there done that. It's not what it's cracked up to be, trust me. The dream would be to live comfortable enough so that I don't have to stress out about finances, and I can focus all my time on charity work.

What type of charity work? Helping the homeless. I believe everyone should have a safe home to live in. Unless they wish to be nomadic, but a lot of homeless people are in this situation, not by choice, but due to awful circumstances and/ or tragic events that occurred in their lives. Best case scenario for me, would be to start a charity where I can actually help homeless people. Where I can truly get in there and change lives.

I'm thinking real estate. Make enough dough to buy land and apartments. Or purchase old vintage motels, restore them to looking cool and old-fashionedy, and have programs onsite where people can help the residents, while also keeping them on-track with their life goals. The on-site offices will have counselors, doctors, childcare, ride-sharing services, etc., and it'll be all non-profit with the aim to bring people off the streets and into a safe, loving, and caring environment. The staff I'll hire will be hand-picked and they'll have to be super qualified but have the same passion for being compassionate and wanting to help others. I want it to be a place where everyone can come to, right off the street, and feel instantly at home. Almost like these centers will be mini towns. Communities. Like college campuses, but instead of profiting and offering a piece of paper that may or may not help a person in the future, this place will literally transform lives and inspire people. Then once the residents are ready to "graduate", they may choose to help me help others who are faced with the same obstacles they once were.

Anyways, I didn't have anything I felt like writing about today, other than this. For now, the Dirty Vegan is signing off - I hope you have an awesome and sunshiny day. Also, if you can, do something today that makes the world a better place. Every little bit counts. One teeny tiny good deed, can and will, have a ripple effect that touches more people than you can even realize.
